These darling skating bears were carved from the same Red Pine log. They started out as doodling, and the boy bear developed first. The more I played with the sketch, the more I added until he had that cheerful smile, a knitted cap, and s flowing scarf behind him. My thoughts then turned to a companion for him, and that was really fun, and exciting. I kept adding jewelry, a short skating skirt, pom poms on her skates, and her bolero (vest). Carving her was more of a challenge than the boy bear, she had so much more to do. Even her eyelashes are carved. I would very much like them to be sold as a pair, instead of individually.
