Here was another challenge. The Painted Pony is carved from Basswood,
and the carving is supported by only one foot. He is painted with Acrylics,
and finished with the usual Matt Polyurethane. I had no idea how I would
fasten him to the base, but with a little ingenuity, and some special adhesives,
the feat was accomplished. He was sold before he was finished, and the lady that
owns him, wouldn't trade him for love nor money. I am proud to say he holds a
position of distinction in her home. It pleases me greatly to know my carvings
are in many states and countries, and their owners realize they are a "One of
a Kind" creation.
