These caricature hounds are such fun to make. They too are carved from Bass wood and painted with acrylic paint thinned down so as to be able to see the wood grain show through, and finished with the same poly spray. The patterns came from Tom Wolf's "Tom Wolf Goes to the Dogs" book. I have made 61 of these dogs in different hound poses, and painted much after most of the breeds, and have only 4 left and are for sale. They are 6 inches tall, 2 inches thick, and 6 inches long.
