This Maple Unicorn bust was one of my most difficult. Hard Rock Maple, as the name suggests is very hard. Besides using knives, I used a Dremel Power tool with a high speed cutter. When I was almost finished, the power tool chattered off the carving and buried itself deep into the knuckle of my left thumb close to the palm. Obviously I couldn't work for a while, but I am a very determined person, and when my thumb was nearly healed, I finished the Unicorn bust. It is a smallish carving, perhaps 5 inches tall, but as you can see the grain is beautiful. For the right price he could be sold.
